Women form the backbone of agriculture in India, performing its most basic to its most backbreaking tasks. And yet, they struggle to get the recognition and respect they deserve. But no longer.
Back in 2015, the Seed The Rise initiative saw Mahindra join hands with you to help
India's farmers sow and grow better. This year, we want to make a real difference to
lives of the women who labour on farms across the country. Through Prerna, we're
equipping them with gender neutral farm tools that will make all that they do
safer and more productive.
Together, we can turn things around for them by supporting their efforts and helping them farm with their heads held high.

Till date, women in agriculture across India use farming implements not designed for their hands, often resulting in injury and making their work more cumbersome.
Prerna will provide gender neutral farm tools to women who work in agriculture across Odisha, enabling them to work more efficiently and with less effort.
As India's pioneering institute working on women’s participation in agriculture, ICAR-CIWA is at the core of Prerna. From providing technical support to essential skills training in the efficient use of women friendly farm tools, they will ensure that our project beneficiaries use the opportunities available to them to do more with their farms.Know More
